ISEC Talks: Entrepreneurship in Education Sector

It was that time of the week again when the GNIMS students were blessed with the opportunity to imbibe themselves with wisdom from the young entrepreneurs in the Industry. ISEC (Innovations Start-ups Entrepreneurship Centre), an initiative of the B-school had conducted another motivational seminar for a strength of nearly 100 enthusiastic audience. ISEC has collaborated with Samavesh to have young entrepreneurs from various sectors to share their journey and promote the spirit of Entrepreneurship with the help of its strong network. Samavesh is an offshoot of AIFMB (Asian Institute of Family Managed Business), one of India’s most acclaimed Family Managed Business School and a brainchild of Ms. Sujata Roy. This seminar was focused on one of the upcoming sectors in the business world i.e. Opportunities and challenges in the Education Sector. Thought leaders and young intellectuals of the business world, lighted up the spark within the budding business leaders attending the seminar, by sharing their experiences and ideas. MBA Students from OIM (Oriental Institute of Management), SVIMS (Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Management Studies & Research) and ADMI (Alkesh Dinesh Modi Institute) were also invited for the seminar.

For a seed to grow into a plant and eventually transform into an enormous tree, proper care and nourishment are needed. This is the prime concern of the faculty at GNIMS and the motivation behind setting up the ISEC – To provide its students with the knowledge and skills required for evolving from young plants to experienced professionals. This motto was put to test by inviting Guest Speakers who would nourish the young minds with their ideologies. The energy among the audience was elevated by the speakers. They were successful in keeping the seminar alive by their zeal for the topics they covered, ranging from; “Evolving ideas in business creativity” to “Education – a pathway to entrepreneurship”.

Mr. Kautilya Bansal (Director, Abhinav Global School), acclaimed by ‘The Best Solution Innovation Award’ for his innovative idea (CHANG 1.7) at the International Young Innovators Summit, Japan was one of the Speakers. The well-groomed entrepreneur enchanted the audience by his innovation that would revolutionize the education system. He addressed the audience about his globally recognized essay – CHANG 1.7, with a thought-provoking quote:-

The purpose of education is to make good human beings with skill and expertise; enlightened human beings can be created by teachers. ~ Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam

This put a smile on every faculty’s face present there, since they were the sculptors of the great leaders of tomorrow. His essay envisioned at changing the traditional education system by evolving:-

Mr. Kautilya believed that the true essence of education laid in enabling students to think freely, explore new ideas and share them.

The evening was made interesting by the presence of Dr. Ashish S. Hattangdi (Widely accepted Scholar and Faculty at Mumbai University) as the ensuing speaker. Known for his academic laurels and a consistent performer in educational exams and extracurricular tests, he addressed the audience about various opportunities and challenges in today’s education sector. Talking about his philosophies on Self-improvement, he provided students with lessons for a lifetime.

Success makes you earn but Failure makes you learn. In this competitive world, he provided the students with the mantra to keep going even if failure strikes, as next time would be better!

The program was well organized and managed by Dr. Kiran Yadav and his team. Not just the students but the dignitaries occupying the front rows were even awestruck by the innovators and their talks. The seminar which initiated at around 4 pm with a curious crowd was concluded in the evening with ignited minds; carrying the potential to be recognized in the ever-innovative industry!
